Welcome!

Please note, as of April 1, 2024 I will be on maternity leave. I will not be accepting new patients until 2025.

Office address: 1834-A Oak Bay Ave. When you arrive please follow the signs to go upstairs and enter the first door on your left. Please take a seat in the lobby and I’ll come out to greet you at your appointment time.

I am no longer taking on any ICBC patients for massage therapy

Cancellation Policy: All services cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the service price. Please contact me via email at hello@yourownhealth.ca if you are cancelling within less than 48 hours due to a personal sickness or an emergency. If you are feeling unwell please do not come into the clinic.

Please Note: All nutrition appointments require a credit card on file, unless a different payment option has been discussed during a discovery call with myself, and will be billed at the time of your appointment.

Direct Billing: I am pleased to offer direct billing to most insurance companies for RMT services. I am not currently offering direct billing for RD (nutrition) services. Please check your benefits plan to ensure you have coverage for the services you are booking in for as I am unable to verify individual plan coverage.

Discovery Calls and Initial Nutrition Sessions: Please book in for a free, 15 minute discovery call prior to booking in for an initial nutrition session. During these calls we will discuss your current needs, my scope of practice, and logistics regarding scheduling and billing. There are a few areas of dietetics I am currently not offering nutrition counselling for, so it is important we have a brief discussion prior to an initial session to ensure we are the right fit. If I am not able to take you on as a patient I am happy make a referral to another RD who will be able to.

When in doubt, send me an email: hello@yourownhealth.ca

After having worked in both clinical and community settings in various health care roles I have witnessed the need for more body-mind approaches to care. Patient-centered care is my focus when it comes to massage. I look forward to collaborating on treatment plans with massage patients as a way to provide healing and develop trust within the body. As an avid runner, I also understand and appreciate the power of a great massage as a way of maintaining athletic performance. I seek to provide patients with a supportive massage environment where their goals frame my approach to care and are made a priority.

Outside of my clinical work, I can be found running, cycling, or whipping up a tasty meal in my kitchen.

My career in nutrition began in the clinical field, both acute (hospital) and long term care settings. My past hospital experience was spent primarily on surgical, general medicine and renal wards. After 6 combined years of working in acute and long term care settings I decided it was time to branch out into community and outpatient environments. I have a passion for connecting one on one with patients and discussing food and body trust while unpacking the science (or lack there of) of modern day diets. This type of work lends itself well to a relaxed outpatient setting with less time constraints and more opportunity for much needed follow up. I'd like to create a space for openness, sharing, and connection as nutrition can be emotional and highly confusing, especially in today's world.
Nutrition is so much more than meal planning and goal setting. I want to hear your story and provide individualized, evidenced based advice that nourishes your physical and mental health.

Although I'd like to help everyone along their nutrition journey I must be transparent with my educational scope and only provide care to those I feel best equipped to counsel. To ensure we are the right fit for each other please fill out the online intake form at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. If I don't think I am the right RD for you I will be in touch with you ASAP (please leave an email or phone number) with a referral to another RD or health service I believe to be appropriate. I am confident that I can serve as referring practitioner and get you set up with someone who works with your condition/concern or at least provide suggestions for different services to seek out.

I am currently NOT seeing the following client groups: pediatrics (18 years of age or younger), pregnancy, and active diagnosed eating disorders.
